Description

Orsa, is the embodiment of precision-an elegant pendant lamp whose elements are simplified as much as possible so that light can delineate the very volume of the object. The entire aluminum structure is specially designed to dissolve heat. The thin metal stem widens at the lower end, creating space for the LED. The LED is covered by a methacrylate light diffuser whose style and finish ensure that the light source remains invisible, turning the lamp into a suspended disc of light. Foster + Partners' Industrial Design team experimented with various materials, finishes and optics to achieve the desired lighting effect. An elegant and minimalist object, Orsa is designed to be used either individually or as part of a larger installation.
