The Passiflora lighting fixture originates from a cardboard prototype painted for the “Superarchitettura” exhibition (1966). The cardboard has been replaced by a transparent material in the light, transforming Passiflora into a luminous column trunk: a column whose deformed shape oscillates between the natural and the artificial, in a game of allusions and ambiguities, corresponding to the declaration of intent of Superstudio, summarized in the text Invention design and evasion design.
