Ofelia originates from the idea of using marble processing waste and is part of a series consisting of small mirrors and a photo frame by Superstudio. A work of bricolage rather than creation, as the Florentine group defined it at the time. Through studied milling, the irregular piece of marble becomes the precious support for a methacrylate plate to be used as a photo frame. Ofelia, Spera and Vanitas represent, ante litteram, a transformation project capable of restoring a new refined aesthetic to industrial waste.
